Curator’s Comments:

Clear Reflections is an attractively understated piece.  Looking at it from a purely compositional standpoint, I appreciate the green-black lines of the seaweed against the muted blue-gray ground.   The reflective ripples in the shallow water create a looping pattern of white lines that nicely offset the contrast of the seaweed branch. The photograph has a visual softness I enjoy. Looking back through your other images on the site, I feel this piece relates to the works of sand and other water ripples that fill the entirety of the picture plane.  Those works, related by subject matter, seem to share an interest in discovering small interruptions in natural design.  The works are thus simultaneously familiar, and mesmeric.
