"Though his footsteps have lightened and his strenght has been cleaned of senseless anger; though he has matured since we first left the bordering forests, he is weakened once again by a self set limitation. The spaces in these woods were always vacancies which we were uneasy walking upon, but now the air has grown heavy with the dust of shaddow. Creatures, once proud levian wraiths or elementals or guardians, now swallowed and trapped in ultimate consumption by the hybrid cocoons, now parade the darkened paths. Because of an upper hand given to those who want Andrew dead, the anchors of the forest are inhibited from communicating with each other. This means that the only thing that can clear this darkness and bring hope to those trapped, is Andrew. But he first needs to see this illusion.
The dust is blackening the air, but it is just dust filling pre-existing emptiness. These giants can swallow an elemental, but are blind and as vulnerable as anything we have already come across.
But I know why this illusion has power over him. Beyond these woods lies a land pale and foggy full of giants that call themselves gods. He sees nothing beyond this land that is worth fighting to reach, and I wish that he knew what I did. Even beyond this forest we call the agris terra, there is a world of creatures and beasts that hope to meet him, yet they don't know his name or what he is. The more I stuck by his side, the more I learned about Andrew. The more I learned, the more I feared what was after him but the more I knew him, the more I was amazed at moments like this; when he looks back at something keeping him and everything else here in a blackness, and then killing the iron dust, to bring in the sun and run forward once again into his world."
-inner monologue, Lily
