Curator’s Comments:
I would have guessed Color Field was a watercolor rather than digital collage, because of the abundance of transitional color washes within the numerous organic “cells”. The larger, undulating organic mass these compartmentalized segments form is highly engaging, and yet visually restful because of the uniformly softened edges and relatively low contrast value pattern. I was also surprised to look through your other work on the site, and discover Color Field is somewhat of an outlier in aesthetic approach. I remember admiring and commenting on some of your more graphically woven pieces some time ago, which often appear as sections of a larger tectonic expanse, rather than a biomorphic entity, or gestalt of similarly composed elements. I do hope you continue to post new work on the site, with both methods.
