I always appreciate it when you bring your newly finished works to my attention, but this may be the first time in recent memory I wouldn’t have immediately recognized the sculpture as yours! It’s a very interesting departure from the multi-faceted cantilevered forms stemming from a split base that I’ve come to know as your signature work.  This is a very interesting formal departure. My initial reaction is that this work is fresh, whimsical, and almost funny.  It’s as if a Modernist cast aluminum sculpture became animated and is now moving on its own volition.  It goes far beyond the suggestion of a kinetic interchange. While some of your other pieces conjure figural relationships, this in my estimation is the most direct application of a singular body in motion I’ve seen in your drawings or sculptures. While every aspect of the sculpture appears to be hand forged or created rather than assembled from found objects, I could see how this piece could lead to the use of industrial cast-offs. The visual weight of the iron wheel nicely stabilizes the flatter aluminum “head”, while the brushed marks and manipulated cut back section appear to enhance the sensation of forward movement.  While you usually identify the physical dimensions in your posts, I don’t see if this is on a maquette scale, or a larger piece.  I would assume the former would activate the playful aspects of the form and a larger presence would call to mind humanoid robotic constructions.  The title of the piece confirms you’re asking the viewer ride along, or at least appreciate this new trajectory.
