Curator’s Comments:
This watercolor landscape may have been created to capture an actual space in time, but the piece appears to be more symbolic or presentiment in its communication of an environmental fissure. The visual heaviness of the two symmetrical chunks of land keening towards each other- only held apart by a thin broken branch- create a palpable strain. In opposition, the smooth white waterfall in the background, and gentle curving ripples in the watery foreground balance the break. This intriguing painting, along with most of your others, were posted some time ago. As the majority of your artwork titles are purely descriptive, I would love to know more about your conceptual intent, and see what you’ve been working on in the years past. Please do consider sharing new work to the site.
