Curator’s Comments:
I enjoyed revisiting your figurative works, and particularly spending more time looking at Tomorrow’s Eyes. There is a rich visual density to the mixed media work, leaving very little negative space. The languid, almost drowsy expression of the figure belies the colorful collage at the top of her head. I find these overlapping patterns and marks formally engaging, balancing the visual weight of the face, but also suggesting cerebral activity and rapid movement. The dotted marks throughout the piece appear to be made with short bursts of paint, punctuating the space with beaded line. Ironically, the hand worked process and media could reference pixilation, as in a digital rather than analog creation. I was happy to see the dimensions of the work present he image in large scale, giving the expression larger than life dimension and presence.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
