Curator’s Comments:
Dream I is a soothingly dark image; the viewer has to take time to search the delicate subject in the space. The polarization of values enhances the lacey lines of the tree branches, suggesting a formation that is almost crystalline. The singularity of the large tree in the foreground adds stability to the scene, while the suggestion of other smaller trees nicely breaks up the inky blackness. The subsequent Dream images in the series (II and X) are much more active as they contain more contrasted value patterns, and inclusions of disparate elements. While some interesting things happen with texture and repetition of form, they don’t exert the same kind of still mood enjoyed in the first piece.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
