Curator’s Comment:
I may romanticize ‘Drizzle’ a bit as it reminds me of an obsolete Polaroid with its square format and black edge. The large empty sky is forlorn in its whitish blue-gray tone. The power lines crossing the bottom give the image formal weight, countering the small droplets of rain tumbling down from beyond the upper edge. All of your pieces currently posted to the site have a similar desolate quality, despite the intimate cropping of the subjects. ‘Letters and Numbers’ has an especially intriguing random or at least unsystematic quality, having the look of a found rather than composed composition. The darkness of the subtle shadows on the pallid surface seem to correspond to the pressure of the stamp or haphazard staple. I also enjoy the tactile sensitivity of other subjects, but the more minimal pieces are quite elegant.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
