elemental and guardian crossing in the evening light

"In the yellow light, my eyes froze on a giant silhouette between two trees. It cast its colossal shadow in the dense light.
“It’s an elemental,” Lily said. I noticed many similar shadows between the trees... “They’re harmless to us, even though they’re colossal,” Lily said. “They vary in shape and size as well.”
Suddenly, a massive pile of vines slithered out of the woods close to us. It’s body was less of a silhouette and mimicked the light of the scene. It had a plate for a face, which disappeared into flat brown with three bright-glowing, yellow markings in a familiar pattern."
