Fire Boat stands out as an unusual image in your portfolio of sculptural installations and drawings, and in fact I don’t recall ever seeing anything quite like it.  It appears to capture the process of creation with mythical significance.  The elemental or alchemical change from solid state to fire and thick, hazy air conjures spiritual phenomena. The organic ripples within the concave of the boat also form a figurative presence, or a vertical shape of light emerging from a liquid pool.  It is a beautiful image, ripe with transcendent connotations, but also pure in its depiction of an essential change in raw physical state.
