Curator’s Comments:
End of Time is a spectacularly dramatic sunset photograph that could have easily descended into a typical picturesque postcard. Instead, the subtle gradation of dark, cool values along the stratified horizon stretches out into a surprising and vaguely abstracted landscape. The banded layers of dark blue and grey beautifully set off the deep pink sky, and thinly illuminated edges of the clouds. I also appreciate the subtle gradation of value moving up towards the top of the picture. It leaves me wondering if these elements were choreographed or manipulated in a digital or analog process, or if this was a straight shot. Telluride Sun Setting Low is even more dazzling in its contrast between the grassy foreground areas captured in local color versus the lightly tinted pastels off into the distance. The reflective sun burst breaks up the compositional symmetry and otherwise static horizontal orientation, teetering between natural light and the surreal.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
