Curator’s Comments:
It’s nice to observe these new installation shots to appreciate the physical scale of your painting, and the way multiple pieces interface. The palette actually seems fairly muted in this image, when compared to the much more saturated detail pictures of individual works. I interpret New Landscape as completely nonobjective despite the reference to the land in the title. The compartmentalization of the organic sections beautifully organizes the more haptic textural surface and the slightly erratic zagging linear elements. I also like the patch of high chroma pale blue, and the manner in which this blue seems to be overlaid with the more vibrant hot pink in the bottom section. Without the direct reference to a flower in the picture, the viewer can appreciate a more expansive and perhaps unrestrained visual experience.
