This painterly study of a truck in snow employs bold gestural marks with solidly constructed color blocking.  I appreciate the various blue-hued shadows in the landscape, and the delicate tread lines made by the tires.  The edgy tracks on the viewers’ right are truly exquisite. While the subject is simplified, it captures all of the necessary elements to translate the weight of the form and movement. Looking through your other works on the site, I remember admiring the very detailed, meticulously rendered table top still lives with fruit and pattern. While all of these works seem to have been executed in oil, the dexterous handling of the media reveals semi-transparent glazing, along with snowy impasto peaks. Along with observational “truth”, your paintings reveal an interesting sense of design. Recognizing these works were created/posted many years ago, I do hope you revisit the site, and share your new work.
