Oil Painting two choices of view

Curator’s Comments:
Just coming across this piece now, I belatedly concur with the comments made several years back about the sensuality of the forms. While considerably more abstract and landscape oriented than many of the paintings you have on the site, it retains the organic mystery. I see the top portion as having recognizable cloud patterns, but the center area of Firebird Rises has an ambiguous sense of the horizon. It’s as if the higher chroma, deep pink hues fold under the clouds in a lip of space rather than an atmospheric edge of space. The saturated color also advances rather than recedes in space, serving to flatten out the anticipated pictorial depth. The lower implied line or edge in the bottom portion of the composition breaks up the expanse of the foreground, and of course contains a strong color /temperature shift. It is an intriguing and unusual piece, with the firebird namesake implied by intensity of color rather than corporeal form.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
