This carries a nice balance of negative space and this glossed, slickness of a foreign yet desirable material.

Curator’s Comment:

I enjoy the liquid movement in Flowing Intensity, and am additionally fascinated by the notion that the piece was formed by a super heating process.  The alchemy of transformation becomes an intrinsic part of the image, enhanced by the hot color temperature.  It is curious that the broader “brushstrokes” or more opaque areas form on the right side of the picture plane, as the movement seems to reverse the traditional left to right trajectory.  The thin, wispy trails on the left appear to be broken threads on the far edge of the wide colorful ribbons.  The more dimensional relief sculpture has a strong corporeal physicality, but I imagine something may also be traded in the illusionary effect.  All works seem to arrest strong movement, but the two dimensional works suspend my comprehension of micro/macrocosmic relativity.
