Forest Pond East resonates with a vibrating pulse despite the still and deceivingly placid landscape.  I’m intrigued how you can imbue depictions of unyielding objects with reverberation of concentrated movement and arterial tension.  The cerulean blue haze that pervades the scene heightens a sense of apprehension or anticipation of a supernatural occurrence.  The ghostly white glimmer of the pond also appears to emanate from within, or underneath.  Faint ripples in the water, though quite delicate in contrast, become the subject of fixation in the piece.  Overarching interest in resources and the natural environment seem to be woven through other works you have on the site; massive trees often being reduced to stumps or timber.  At first glance Packard Goddess/Hopper gas immediately seems in contrast to these ideological concerns.  The sleek image and high chroma color has a generally faster speed- smooth, and visually resolved with its aerodynamic subject. The glowing artificial light from the Edward Hopperesque gas station is the clear originator of the luminous beams cast in this painting; all the while circular shapes repeat the movement of the unabashed hood ornament.  But the subject itself looks back to the past while it pushes forward. This forces me to consider the possibility that the content may be less didactic in the other images, and more of a poetic read into lands that were always just beyond, or past, our grasp.
