It’s surprising to read Give Me Myself is a graphic drawing.  While your artistic prowess is demonstrably evident in many other pieces, the abstraction of form and space is aesthetically remarkable when considering the methodical process of the medium.  The large swaths of negative white space are a dazzling visual interruption in the detailed value graduations of the textured cloth and brick.  I’m especially attracted to the sharp emptiness of white mask on the static figure.  (A mannequin?)  As with the other pieces in your portfolio that utilize masks, the mask forms a shield of human emotion and personal identity.  But while it obscures it simultaneously reveals an alternate persona and constructed guise.  The white matter- positive and negative-universally intimates purity, perfection, the spectrum of light and definitive absence.
