An illustration from the first book of my series (the mutinatione interius mundi), titled The Agris Terra. Illustrating a scene towards the end, where Lily (the fox girl) is grieving in private as she tries to cope with decision of staying in her home land or leaving forever with Andrew.

Lily is a symbol for the potential for Andrew to be mature and loving. Her state of vulnerability represents that in times of major change, maturity must grow even stronger.

She has gone to a private dark place within the woods of the Agris Terra. Lily barely wears anything to emulate an expression of beauty in the hopes of creating a strength that will combat the sense of trouble within her. She holds her favorite flower to calm her with the senses of sight and smell. The sound of the stream and isolation from chaos outside the area calms her enough to just let her think about the situation she's in.
