Curator’s Comments:

 

The short explanation describing the set-up of Pods and Seeds doesn’t do justice to the ephemeral nature of the photograph. While I appreciate the technical information regarding the light source accompanying the work, the floating nature and cropping of the pods erases its rather mundane origins.  The sense of scale also seems suspended as the forms take on an abstract, and even ontological existence.  Whereas the pod would normally release the seeds, the enclosure keeps the elements swirling around each other, bending the thin white filaments in various directions.
