Curator’s Comments:
I’m attracted to this painting, Monet’s Turkeys for the expressive brushwork, broken color and unexpected subject matter. The cool blue-violet undertones in the lighter foreground play up against the more contrasted darker green hues in the foliage. All the while the main subjects- the trio of turkeys- appears camouflaged, and begins to dissolve into the space. Beautifully depicted as slightly warmer with longer marks, while abstracted, they appear even more animated than their lively surrounds. The atmospheric qualities created by the lighter branches overlapping the shallow landscape create a sense of privacy and contemplation, all the while channeling classic Impressionistic works.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
