Curator’s Comments:
This seeming untitled painting caught my attention today- curious in the detailing of architecture for what could be an entirely fantastically created piece. The subject looks to be a Gothic style cathedral or castle, but the sway of the spire is more like a Gaudi tower. The stone colored wash could also be local color of an actual structure. It looks as though there are watercolor washes, though media isn’t indicated, and the shadows show a richly opaque depth. I see the piece is somewhat of an outlier in your repertoire of subject matter, making it even more mysterious.
