I’m not sure what I’m actually seeing in this stark streetlight image; the image at once appears to be photographic, and yet manipulated with the lower contrasting background shapes.  The atmospheric light is unusual, but also offsets the bright light of the focal image. The intense orange icicles streaking from the street light literally freeze the image’s surreal ambiance.  I see the scene as empty and forlorn, but there is arguably an intense buildup of energy in the isolated heat in the center spot, for the light doesn’t carry from the obvious source into the rest of the picture.  As with other photographs you’ve posted on the site, the piece at first seem to translate simple everyday subjects.  But closer viewing we’re not as confident what the pictures about.
