Curator’s Comment:
Welcome to the site! The work Incoherence is a fresh and bold geometric abstraction. I enjoy the counterbalance of the complementary hues; the green wall with red edging and the vertical orange rectangular shape crossing the blue plane. Yellow nicely floats between them. The lower chroma hues set up these dynamic contracts and allow for a welcome neutral area of visual rest. I was a bit surprised to see the notation that the piece was executed in acrylic. The hard edged solid pigments look saturated enough to be digital or stenciled airbrush. While the absence of the artist’s hand is appreciated in the seamless rendering, the structures have a decidedly architectural feel, suggesting human presence or interaction.
