This series has a brilliant equilibrium between experimental manipulation of organic media and more methodical, decorative embellishments.  I enjoy the confetti- like explosive design, with candy colored shapes radiating from a central axis.  The pieces actually remind me of Millefiori beads, with their concentric layering. The dotted lines also suggest an erratic, spiraling energy.  While it’s difficult to appreciate on my screen, it does appear as though the piece enjoys matte, papery areas in the background and smoother opaque color in the dominate shapes and scrolls.  I like that the nebulous cluster of shapes and calligraphic lines floats in the space, and dissipates towards the edges.  It balances the work in terms of airy and dense passages.
