I imagine this Sheep in Meadow oil painting generates a strong impact for its modest physical scale.  The large proportion of voluminous sky, with its development of weighted blue-violet clouds dwarfs the animals in the landscape. The small white sheep and reddish hued trees present an idyllic scene, if outweighed by the drama of the clouds.  I enjoy the figurative quality of the trees, and the way their varied sizes and textures create atmospheric perspective.  Looking back through your other work on the site, I remembered commenting on other pieces I’d admired.  The painterly dexterity demonstrated in both your landscapes and figurative works comes together here quite nicely.  I realize Sheep in Meadow was created quite some time ago, despite coming up today in a random search of images.  I do hope you continue to add new paintings on the site.
