Curator’s Comment:
These new sculptural works are rather engrossing- particularly in the installation shots where they comingle and seem to return a distortion and snaking movement of the architectural columns. As a grouping of piercingly pointed objects, they appear to sway and bend towards one another, creating an interesting visual dialogue. The surface and color modulation adds a stronger organic presence, though I don’t see media designated. I’m curious if it’s applied pigment or patina, since it looks like it could be either, or both. I also see the curved shapes in the larger pieces as figurative, while the smaller more erect unit is more formal and obelisk oriented in its predominant verticality. The wide bases of the work grounds them in a manner which could also tangentially imply growth or transformation. I see this as a dimensional manifestation of the previous two dimensional pieces, and their likeness to natural erosion.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
