Curator’s Comments:

This quirky little drawing, Piggyback, was featured on the site in a random selection today, and it held my interest.  It’s clear there is a figure on top of another, but it’s less clear where one begins and the other ends.  I enjoy the way in which the arms and arm-like appendages balance the verticality of the figural totem, and project into the empty background space. The fact that the drawing is achromatic injects a level of understatement that suits the assembled spectacle.
