Curator Comment:
I'm very attracted to this piece because of the organic figuration. The top section seems to have a horse like outlined body- the hindquarters pushing into the upper left corner, while the head turns back in on itself. The orange lines- creating two lobe shapes- appear wing-like in their symmetry, but could also reference organs, duality, etc. Light and energy seems to emanate from these lines. The emptier core section flanked by the blue on the top & bottom provides a visual rest, but also holds the vigorous lines together. While there’s rawness to the line quality and application of paint on the surface, the more subtle areas of wash make it almost elegant.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
