You identify Mountain Sunset as a formal outlier in your silk painting, and I agree you should continue to do more in this direction. It has a similar fluid manipulation relished in some of your other pieces, but is much looser in its connection to landscape, and therefore more evocative of emotion than a descriptor of space. The roughly horizontal banded striations of landscape keep the movement slow across the picture plane, as the lines branch off into feathery washes of organic color. I like the choice of low chroma hues and the easy transition through warm and cool temperatures. The first untitled painting in the portfolio that you recently posted also captures some of these qualities, but the more vibrant yellow and orange figurative shapes creates a decidedly more energetic mood and sharp staccato punctuation.
