moving past the shock of the wound

part of the beginning of chapter 21, Lily opens up and reveals some of her optimism about leaving with andrew, and describes both of their anxiety by using a wounded guardian near by metaphorically. It doesn't know that it's arm will heal, and so is in shock about the situation of the injury. But all will be well in time.
