Appearing in a random search, I was attracted to Neptune’s Daughter. I find it a dreamy piece that skillfully combines the abstraction in your sweeping landscape oriented works such as The Sky Becomes the Sea with other mystical female portraits. I enjoy the limited color palette that pushes the warmer tones in the skin and lips into the all-over blue-green glazed color. The clear round blue eyes also infuse the piece with a unified mood and ethereal quality evocative of the astrologically inspired title. While the close cropping of the face removes other narrative elements you may have employed in related portraits, the attention on the sculptural form of the subject is heightened.
