Portfolios: October 2011 Curator Reviewed Artwork
Comment
I absolutely love the color combination and playful nature of this painting.
Thank you for your wonderful comment. I am going to work to deserve your words.
This is a very interesting piece. I love your use of color. I looks like pastels? The repersentation of the objects in the room is neat
Curator’s Comment:
Your portfolio of work is a virtual explosion of exuberant color! The intense pinks and reds saturate the bold marks, and build up to a glowing non-objective field. I must admit to being partial to the completely abstracted images, such as this piece simply titled Daybreak. The suspension of the visual weight towards the top of the painting also reinforces the uplifting mood of the high chroma pink linear design. The darker, deeper section at the bottom creates a strong contrast of value, and unexpected break from the gestural expression. The thin linear elements seem to be about the free and primal act of drawing itself, but then the passages of color are orchestrated in a way that almost undermines the looseness of the image. There is evidence of an underlining structure demarcated in blues and greens- once again lending certain solidity to the tenuous and meshed overlapping shapes.
