Peace reappeared in a random selection on the site today. Sadly, the print is as relevant today as it was when it was created back in 2016, as an anti-war appeal. The simplicity of this composition in conjunction with a stark white ground beautifully highlights the graphic text, and fundamental wish for peace. I appreciate the choice of toy blocks as a vehicle for this universal message which is simultaneously clear-cut and arguably multi-faceted in its complexity. The subtle modulations of layered primary hues also attracts the viewers attention, and holds us in the space. As the blocks are arranged in a simple pyramidal stack, I wonder if the intent was to suggest a broader hierarchal order at play. However, that may be reading too much into this elegantly uncomplicated visual solution.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
