Curator’s Comments:

I’m intrigued by these textural pieces simply numerated with single letter or numbers, that read as metallic flat objects against a larger surface with a contrasting patina. Showing evidence of carving and scoring, the competing topographies suggest landscape as well as painterly swaths of impasto and sgriffito pigment.  This particularly work presents a strong juxtaposition of warm and cool alternating rectilinear planes, and suggesting a more expansive color field beyond the image borders.  Recognizing this post was uploaded many years ago, I hope to see more of your work on the site, and would love to know how these pieces are dimensionally formed, and how they relate to your broader art practice.
