A cool abstract acrylic painting, reminding me of water or a satellite image of a coastline. 12" x 12"

I find it quite refreshing to view Cold Coastline in the unrelenting heat of the summer. The arctic ice like formations of crystalline blue and green seem to literally freeze fluid painterly movement.  While your specific process isn’t noted, I wonder if I’m seeing a sort of pooling of acrylic pigment or gouache transfer. (Decalcomania could also be present in the piece entitled Proprietary Information?).  Regardless of technique, there is a visual arresting of time and organic modulation of form whether intentional or “accidental”.  There’s a strong diagonal thrust in the composition, but the darker sections of concentrated blue keep the swirling marks anchored in space. I share your interest in a topographic viewing of water or aerial landscape; the image could be interpreted as either a micro or macrocosm. For this reason I find the more abstract images most successful.  The figures, while skillfully rendered, remove the ambiguity of the viewers’ relationship to the horizon, or coastline.
