Curator’s Comments:
Allison’s Forked Road came up randomly on the site, and I was happy to revisit your digital works. This piece seems somewhat restrained in its color saturation, when compared to many of your other prices, but the warm tonalities and use of light are extremely effective. I agree with James’ previous comment about the central form appearing as a figurative shape or torso. The radiating value pattern suggests a movement of expansion or emergence. I particularly like the contrast between the grayish ground and the brightest warm highlights, as they create a surprising interior glow. While the title may conjure a more pragmatic or physical space, the ambiguity of the abstraction keeps the viewer engaged.
Thanks James.
I like this because it looks like a torso
