Curator’s Comments:
While it was created some years back, Waiting for Impact resonates with present-day anxiety and angst. There is a freshness and immediacy to the gesture; one recognizes the proverbial office chair by it’s simple contours. The primary paint colors of the ground subtly serve to overpower the bent over figure- muted as she is in pale olive green and dull orange. Her terribly skinny legs and tiny feet further serve to express her vulnerability and powerlessness. It looks like a quick and urgent painting- tapping into a primal human distress and dread. The small scale may also serve to underscore the existential condition. It is a poignant little piece.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
