Portfolios: Things We Will or Have Already Lost

Curator’s Comments:
I enjoy this series immensely, mourning the vestiges of Pluto, jumping and cursive writing. The disparate entities grouped in a bound work make them even more ironic, though they’re also satisfying when viewed as singular images. The small hatched line work necessarily slows down the eye, and by interrupting the text, causes the viewer to consider both the source and obstruction simultaneously. I appreciate the pieces with large blocks of solid color, as they provide a visual rest to the activity of the design, and balance the weight of the asymmetry. Cursive Writing is particularly provocative; maintaining the block font as a further affront to that which is ‘lost’. It’s a very smart series. The dialectical tensions help to make the works successful conceptually, while the meandering lines soften the full and graphic impact.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
