Curator’s Comment:
The ribbons of reflected light stream down this piece- it’s almost difficult to trace the photographic origin of the subject matter. I particularly enjoy how the visual weight of the boat is suspended in the top section of the work, and how the blended yellow color at the bottom links it back to the upper section. The same interplay of light and space is repeated in the blue-violet half of the boat and the water below. It really is an elegant study of water.
