I’m happy to see you continuing to post new work on the site.  Sentimiento vacio maintains the figurative and conceptual duality seen in many of your other fantastical paintings.  The androgynous twins pull away from each other both because of the structural compositional barrier separating them, as well as their opposing and masked gazes.  But I’m most compelled by the dualistic tension produced in the adjacent piece entitled Romantica.  While both feminine figures face the same direction, they too seem to demonstrate a ying-yang counterbalance between interior/exterior and containment versus extension.  The echoing of smooth stylized shapes and intense colors give the painting its decorative charm.  I especially enjoy the way into which the exotic bird and bright red leaves align with the body of the rainbow haired woman.  Interestingly, the threaded connections between her gloves and red collar suggest the markings of another exotic natural creature, whereas the harlequin pattern of the second figure’s costume brings forth cultural/human-made trappings.
