Thank you! Well, I'm also a cartoonist, so this in a cartoon style. I did this as part of a story, and the character is red is the narrator of the story. David
It’s Thanksgiving Day in the US, and therefore I wanted to comment on this piece, Thanksgiving Dinner. The whimsical drawing seems to radiate energy with intense green lines circling around the myriad of people gathered at the long table. I enjoy the combination of bright colors and different perspectives, so the viewer can distinguish all of the faces in attendance simultaneously with the holiday spread. I can’t tell why the guest at the bottom of the composition is singled out with arrows, but her slightly reddened face adds a humorous dynamic to the gathering. I realize this illustration is stylistically different from many of your paintings on the site, and so I wonder if the pen and ink media is what determines if forms are constructed with thin gestural lines. I see that the piece was posted several years ago, at a time when large family celebrations were the norm. Thank you for reminding of us of happier- and hopefully future- thanksgivings.
