oil on canvas
The frozen desert likes the color grey.
And so, the sun likes to hide behind the folds of clouds.
When I see its ora in the sky, so distant from the trash-filled streets, I prey for my health, and for my prosperity.
And the same for those I love.
I don't know what I'm praying to.
or how it will touch the earth when I cannot touch the sky.
But somehow, as long as the tendrils of my prayer are cast to the sun,
I find that sun somewhere within me,
or within the world around me.
