Curator’s Comments:
The title Thine Posterior is Glorious is humorously flamboyant- quite apt for the colorful piece. More compact than many of your other assemblages on the site, the visual density of the construction is somewhat relieved by the window openings in the center. For me it reads as a barn door, perhaps in the context of living food. Compositionally, the eye of the rooster in the upper left quadrant mimics the circular yellow dots in the center- the architectural animal hybrid is then served to us, the viewer, in a neat foil cup. As with your other works, I’m attracted to the graphic design of the work, and that it is simultaneously presented as a solid sculptural object. They’re unusual innovations challenging the nature of painting as illusion, and I hope to see more on the site.
