Curator’s Comments:

 

The wide range of works in your portfolio on the site vary a great deal in subject and approach.  Some drawings appear to be strictly academic, and are referenced as studies, while others are much more exploratory in media and personal approach.  I’m most attracted to the figure drawings 7 & 8, for their sketchy line quality that compiles erratic gesture to ultimately build form.  The weight of the resting body is particularly well expressed in number 7; the slope of the shoulders and heavier linear measure in the lower arm convey the pressure point on mass.  The small amount of white highlight emphasizes the dimensionality of the figure, but it is light rather than intrusive.
