This untitled piece has a dynamic equilibrium between splattered/gestural marks and graphic black contrast.  I enjoy the uneven distribution of visual weight from left to right in the composition, as the lighter pink and orange tones seem to break through a darker layer of opaque pigment.  The textural qualities between these lighter tints and heavier color suggest a stretching and tearing of a surface skin over another media, so I wonder about scale and process.  I’ve admired your other pieces that have deckled/feathered edges and can be viewed more as fragmentary pieces; the edges in this work appear as more illusionistic to me, but equally abstract.  The longer and less contained brush strokes add bold, intensified movement.
