Curator’s Comments: 

 

The freshness of this piece resonates with me. (White Series No.0012)  While the collaged photographic images include tints of gold and blue, the warm white brushwork adds a semi-opaque veil over the torn and hard edges, and softens the overall picture. The white paint also serves to unify the disparate pieces into fluid composition. I enjoy the radiating architectural/oculus design in the top center, and the unexpected asymmetry of the bottom borders.  However, I am most appreciative of this work within the grouping of the series.  While the subtitles can only be appreciated by “zooming in” to individual works, the repetition of the high key values across a broad range of color palettes acts as a satisfyingly rhythmic installation.
