Curator’s Comment:
These bustling, multifaceted works are reminiscent of game boards or puzzles- compartmentalized pieces of leisure and fabricated conundrums. I have a positive sensory response to the primary colored blocks and repeated patterns, wondering if they represent slices of reality or constructed artifice. Glimpses of graphic photographic imagery seem vaguely nostalgic, as pictographic animals are interspersed with numbers, normalized black and white portraits, stars and geometric certainties. As we visually seek order in chaos, the viewer may contemplate the staccato arrangement of these seemingly random shapes and forms. But in their totality they perhaps become a stabilizing entity. A circle counters a square- maybe two reds equal one blue. The title, Obsession; Chickens Falling injects humor, but also seems to intentionally obfuscate any deeper understanding of its configuration.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
