ARTIST STATEMENT

Art has been my passion ever since I can remember. My mother had my siblings and me involved in arts and crafts at very early ages. To that end, we all developed a great appreciation for art. I put my passion for art aside while I raised my children and pursued my career as a stock broker. My husband and I are empty nesters now and I devote all my spare time to painting.

I am a self-taught artist currently living in a small resort community in Saskatchewan, Canada. Saskatchewan's motto is "land of living skies" and my paintings are usually centered around the ever changing magnificent western sky. I am always experimenting with new media, but acrylic seems to be my medium of choice. I love painting in miniature (under 25 square
inches) but have painted some larger pieces. My art has changed over the years and I add more detail to these tiny pieces of art now, sometimes using magnifiers to add the detail.
