I wanted to share images of new paintings I've been working on. They are the complete opposite of the work I normally do. I needed a break from them and recharge that battery. Plus, since sales are in the tank everywhere, its a good time for experimentation.

Hi Paul,
Sorry for the delay in response. I've been wrapped up in making new paintings...against my more intelligent judgement (I've still not answered the million dollar question of how does and artist survive when the economy is down the drain)
Thanks for you thoughts on my clouds. I enjoyed making these and would love to continue with this theme someday...and at much larger sizes. So far, you're the only one to grasp what I'm trying to do with these pictures. Most people seem a bit afraid of them...although, I take that as a sort of compliment.
Really like the image you sent along. along with being very cathartic, its very grounded and modern in the way we contemporary people "see" the world. If this is your "letting go" I hope you continue to engage that energy!

I hear 'ya - the tension that builds when you are doing a tight piece is what keeps it exciting, sure but after a fashion you just have to let go. I agree with you clouds are a great release. I am going to try to attach a picture of a small piece I just took off the easel to show how I also let go.
Your cloud paintings are working. They give the sense of freedom and change - movement and awe.
