Disclaimer: This piece came up randomly on the site today, and I was surprised to recognize the name of the artist- a friend and well-known artist in my community.

While I thought I would recognize your paintings instantly, this work presents as a more traditional, academic painting than I’m accustomed to seeing among your stylized figurative works.  The lush nude shimmers with back highlights, while receding slightly in space as she leans away from the viewer.  The color scheme seems slightly exaggerated, though it occurs to me I may also know the model, with purple hair.  The row of rectangles in the background read as a row of windows, playing with the idea of the picture plane as an illusionistic window of its own. Looking through your other pieces on the site for context, I also admired the charcoal figure drawing labeled as Study.  The finesse in your line work is evident in your other abstractions of course, but it was nice to come across the painting No title yet today.
